The National Assembly has shifted the resumption of plenary for senators and members of the House of Representatives from September 15 to September 29, 2026.
The Clerk to the National Assembly, Kamoru Ogunlana, announced the change in a statement on Wednesday, saying the decision was taken at the direction of Senate President Godswill Akpabio and House Speaker Tajudeen Abbas.
The two chambers will now reconvene on Tuesday, September 29, to allow ongoing rehabilitation work within the National Assembly complex to be completed.
Ogunlana advised lawmakers to take note of the new date and make the necessary adjustments to their legislative engagements.
The postponement comes as the National Assembly prepares to resume legislative activities, including consideration of key issues on its agenda.
