Ahead of the 2027 general elections, Demola Olarewaju, Senior Political Assistant to African Democratic Congress presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has accused President Bola Tinubu of deploying state power and All Progressives Congress governors to intimidate and suppress the opposition.
In a series of statements shared on social media platform X, Olarewaju argued that the administration relies on political harassment because it has failed to deliver meaningful governance or relieve economic hardship.
He alleged a coordinated pattern of state-sponsored interference across multiple states, including Edo, Kaduna, Rivers, Sokoto, and Ekiti, aimed at disrupting opposition rallies, suppressing social media, and halting Atiku’s campaign momentum in the North.
Warning the administration to desist from state intimidation before public discontent escalates, Olarewaju maintained that no amount of political pressure can stop Atiku’s message of security and economic affordability from resonating across Nigeria.
