Iran Rules Out Direct U.S. Talks Despite Diplomatic Outreach from Vance
Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, has dismissed reports of upcoming bilateral meetings with U.S. officials, describing any claims of direct talks as mere media speculation.
Speaking in an interview, Araghchi affirmed that Tehran currently sees no necessity for direct dialogue with Washington, noting that Iran’s conditions remain clear while consultations proceed through regional mediators.
The top diplomat confirmed that high-level Iranian leadership has reviewed a diplomatic communication from U.S. Vice President JD Vance aimed at averting further conflict.
While Araghchi acknowledged Washington’s effort to open channels for broader understanding as a positive step, he cautioned that if the message is intended to sow internal division, it will represent another major miscalculation by the United States.
