Woli Arole Warns Against Debt-Fuelled Lifestyle, Says Many Are Suffering Silently
Nigerian comedian and clergyman Woli Arole has cautioned against the growing pressure to maintain lifestyles beyond one’s financial capacity, warning that debt is taking a toll on people’s well-being.
Arole, whose real name is Bayegun Oluwatoyin, shared the warning in a post on his verified Instagram account, where he urged followers to prioritise financial responsibility over the desire to impress others.
He encouraged people to make efforts to repay money they owe, avoid unnecessary borrowing and resist the temptation to spend beyond their earnings.
“Please, I beg you, in God’s name, try every means not to be in DEBT, find every means to return people’s money, try every means not to live beyond your MEANS, try every means not to IMPRESS. A lot of people are dying silently because of DEBTS Ooooo!!!,” he wrote.
The entertainer’s message attracted reactions from followers, with several agreeing with his concerns and sharing experiences about the emotional and psychological difficulties associated with debt.
Arole is known for combining comedy with Christian ministry and has frequently used his social media platform to address issues beyond entertainment.
His previous public commentaries have touched on faith, relationships, parenting and other social concerns.
