The agency disclosed this in a post on its official X handle on Saturday, stating that samples had been collected from the suspected cases for laboratory testing.
It also announced the deployment of rapid response teams to the affected states to conduct contact tracing and prevent any possible spread of the disease.
The NCDC urged Nigerians not to panic but to maintain strict hygiene practices, avoid bushmeat and promptly report symptoms such as fever, vomiting, bleeding and diarrhoea to the nearest health facility.
According to the agency, it is working with state governments and partners to manage the situation.
As of the time of filing this report, laboratory results were still being awaited to determine whether the suspected cases were Ebola infections.
