Manchester City Eye Rodrygo as Potential Replacement Amid Summer Departures

Manchester City are reportedly considering a high-profile move for Real Madrid forward Rodrygo as they look to reinforce their squad following a string of summer exits.
The Premier League champions have already sanctioned the departures of several players, including Jack Grealish, James McAtee, and Savinho, and manager Pep Guardiola is believed to have identified Rodrygo as a top target to help fill the void.
Guardiola is known to be an admirer of the Brazilian winger, whose long-term future at Real Madrid remains uncertain. Reports suggest that Los Blancos are open to allowing Rodrygo to leave, provided the player wishes to pursue a new challenge, though any deal is likely to require a fee in the region of €100 million.
City’s interest in Rodrygo comes as part of a wider reshuffle within their squad. Savinho is reportedly set to join Tottenham Hotspur, while McAtee is closing in on a move to Nottingham Forest, having agreed personal terms. Talks between the two clubs are said to be at an advanced stage.
If secured, Rodrygo’s arrival would offer Guardiola a versatile attacking option as City aim to maintain their domestic dominance and challenge for European honours in the upcoming season.
