Magixx mourns mother Esther: ‘Nobody can take your place’

Afrobeats singer Magixx is mourning the death of his mother, Esther, whom he described as his greatest source of strength and inspiration.

The Mavin Records artiste announced her death in a tribute posted on X on Sunday, saying he was struggling to accept the loss.

Magixx recalled watching his mother endure years of illness while continuing to show strength and concern for those around her.

According to the singer, Esther spent the last six years fighting the illness but remained committed to her family, friends and even people outside her immediate circle.

He remembered her as a woman whose warmth, humour and generosity made her memorable to those who encountered her.

Magixx also reflected on the close relationship they shared, describing his mother as his “reason,” “guardian,” “twin” and “everything.”

He said her absence would leave a void that could not be filled.

The singer further expressed his belief that their bond would endure beyond death, saying he would choose her as his mother in every lifetime.

Magixx ended his tribute by thanking Esther for the life they shared and expressing his love for her.

The announcement has since prompted messages of sympathy from fans, colleagues and other members of the entertainment industry.
