Benfica Join Race for Nigeria’s Tolu Arokodare After 21-Goal Season with Genk

Portuguese giants Benfica have emerged as the latest club linked with a move for KRC Genk striker Tolu Arokodare, following his impressive 2024/25 campaign.

The Nigeria international has drawn interest from top-tier clubs across Germany, France, and the English Premier League after finishing as the top scorer in the Belgian Pro League with 21 goals.

According to a Belgian outlet, Benfica have expressed strong interest in signing the 24-year-old forward. Genk, for their part, are reportedly open to selling Arokodare this summer—provided they receive an offer that meets their valuation.

Arokodare’s stock continues to rise, and he is currently part of Nigeria’s squad preparing to face Russia in an international friendly scheduled for Friday.
