Federal Unity Colleges set for Monday resumption as FG assures safety

The Federal Government has assured parents, guardians and students of adequate security as all Federal Unity Colleges across the country resume academic activities on Monday, September 14, 2026.

The Federal Ministry of Education said necessary measures had been put in place to ensure a safe, smooth and orderly start to the new academic session, with relevant security agencies already briefed on the resumption arrangements.

According to the ministry, security agencies are maintaining heightened vigilance around the colleges and their immediate environments to safeguard students, staff and members of the wider school communities.

The Minister of Education, Tunji Alausa, said the safety and wellbeing of students and staff remain a priority in the Federal Government’s efforts to provide a secure and conducive environment for teaching and learning.

The minister also urged parents and guardians to remain calm, rely on information from official channels and proceed with preparations for their children and wards to return to their respective colleges.

He further directed school authorities to maintain close coordination with security agencies and other relevant authorities to ensure a safe and orderly resumption across the Federal Unity Colleges.
