Real Madrid head coach Xabi Alonso has commended the performances of Rodrygo and Franco Mastantuono following their team’s 3-0 triumph over Oviedo in LaLiga on Sunday.
Alonso made the decision to start both forwards in the attacking lineup during the match held at Estadio Carlos Tartiere. The victory was secured thanks to a brace from Kylian Mbappe and a goal from Vinicius, securing three valuable points for Los Blancos against the home side.
In his post-match remarks, Alonso expressed satisfaction with the contributions of both players. Commenting on Rodrygo, he said, “He had a good game. In the first half, on that side he linked up well with Carreras. Mbappe sometimes dropped and so did Güler. He had one-on-one situations and a few shots.”
Regarding Mastantuono’s performance, Alonso added, “He had a very good game. In a short time he has managed to connect with the group and his teammates,” highlighting the player’s swift adaptation to the team dynamics.
