Elche Join Race for Real Sociedad’s Umar Sadiq Amid Transfer Uncertainty

Spanish side Elche CF have entered the race to secure the services of Real Sociedad forward, Umar Sadiq.
Sadiq, who rejoined Real Sociedad for pre-season training on Monday, is widely tipped to depart the club on a permanent deal during the current transfer window.
The Nigerian striker spent the latter half of the previous campaign on loan at Valencia, where he registered five goals in 16 La Liga appearances.
Reports from Spain indicate that Elche are keen to bring the 28-year-old in on loan for the 2025/26 season. However, Real Sociedad are reportedly only open to letting him leave on a permanent basis.
Sadiq still has three years remaining on his current contract with the Basque club.
The forward moved to Real Sociedad from Almeria in 2022 but has found it difficult to secure a consistent starting role since joining the team.
