Toyin Abraham Breaks Silence on Failed Marriage to Adeniyi Johnson, Reflects on Finding True Love
Popular Nollywood actress Toyin Abraham has opened up about her previous marriage to fellow actor Adeniyi Johnson, revealing the real reason behind their split and how her journey led to finding true happiness with her current husband, Kolawole Ajeyemi.
Speaking in an emotional interview with media personality Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, Abraham disclosed that her family had serious reservations about her first marriage, warning her against it after seeking divine guidance. Despite their concerns, she went ahead with the union, which lasted about two years before ending in divorce.
“My family wasn’t in support,” she said. “They prayed and got a revelation that it wouldn’t work, but I was stubborn. I didn’t listen.”
Now happily married to actor and filmmaker Kolawole Ajeyemi, Toyin described their relationship as one built on genuine love, faith, and deep mutual respect. She praised her husband for being calm, supportive, and spiritually grounded, calling him a “prayer warrior” and a constant source of strength in her life.
“In real life, he’s very calm,” she said. “Whenever I’m in Abeokuta, he’s always there. We got close over time. I didn’t want anyone to know initially, but I grew fond of him. I started going with him to work, and eventually, we introduced ourselves to our families. Then I got pregnant, and the marriage followed.”
She continued, “I come from a Christian home, and my family prayed again. This time, they received confirmation that he was truly my husband. Now, we’re blessed with two beautiful children—a boy and a girl.”
