Toyin Abraham Addresses Abike Shugaa’s Claims Over ‘Ijakumo’ Role

Nollywood actress and filmmaker Toyin Abraham has responded to allegations made by influencer Olawuni Oluwapelumi Abike concerning her involvement in the film Ijakumo.
Abike, popularly known as Abike Shugaa, had claimed in a viral video that she was paid N50,000 for appearing in the project but later discovered that her scenes did not make the final cut. She also referenced her experiences working on other productions.

Reacting via her official X account on Friday, Abraham provided additional context, stating that the influencer was compensated for multiple roles across different projects.
According to the actress, Abike received N500,000 for a role in Malaika, while the N50,000 payment was specifically for two scenes in Ijakumo. She explained that those scenes were eventually removed during the editing process by the film’s director.
Abraham also emphasized her track record of supporting emerging talents within Nollywood, noting that she has consistently created opportunities for newcomers in the industry.
Despite the ongoing discussion, the actress indicated she would not engage further on the issue, describing Abike in a personal light and expressing a desire to move past the controversy.
The development comes amid heightened attention on Abraham’s recent online exchanges within the industry, including a separate fallout involving fellow actress Funke Akindele.
