Tinubu, Shettima conferred highest national honours

The President-elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Vice President-elect Kashim Shettima have been conferred with the highest national honours of Grand Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (GCFR) and Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger (GCON).

The duo were conferred the national honours as part of activities lined up for the inauguration of the new administration on May 29 2023.

The Minister of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs George Akume while congratulating the president-elect, expressed optimism that the country would be ushered into an era of prosperity under the incoming administration.

The Minister believed that all the progressive legacies left behind by the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari would be pursued by the incoming administration.

On his part, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, said a lot has been achieved in the areas of infrastructure which include railway lines, road infrastructure sukuk projects, the Second Niger Bridge, and power amongst many other projects.

The SGF maintained that the multifaceted approach employed by President Buhari lifted the country out of the shackle of recession that his administration inherited.
