Shettima to Oyebanji: Improve Public Service, Empower Youths

The Federal Government has pledged continued support for Ekiti State as Vice President Kashim Shettima urged Governor Abiodun Oyebanji to prioritise youth empowerment and better public services in his second term.

Shettima made the call on Friday while representing President Bola Tinubu at the governor’s inauguration in Ado-Ekiti.

According to a statement by his spokesman, Stanley Nkwocha, Shettima said Oyebanji’s re-election reflected the people’s confidence in his leadership, urging him to expand opportunities for young people and address the needs of underserved communities.

He also stressed that Nigerians’ sacrifices under the Tinubu administration’s economic reforms must yield improved living conditions and greater economic opportunities.

The Vice President commended infrastructure projects in Ekiti, including roads, schools, health facilities, electricity initiatives and the Agro-Allied International Cargo Airport, noting their potential to boost development.

He congratulated Oyebanji on his renewed mandate and assured Ekiti of the Federal Government’s continued partnership.

In his remarks, Oyebanji thanked residents for their support, pledging to sustain the state’s unity and improve education, healthcare, workers’ welfare, agriculture and security.

He also promised to strengthen vocational training and pursue reliable electricity for businesses, while urging residents to support the APC in the forthcoming general elections.
