Skales Reveals Why Many Artists Miss Out on Their Breakthroughs

Renowned Nigerian musician Raoul John Njeng-Njeng, popularly known as Skales, has shared insights on why many artists fail to reach their full potential.
Taking to his X (formerly Twitter) account on Monday, Skales emphasized the importance of persistence and patience in the music industry. According to him, a lack of determination causes many artists to give up just before success arrives.
“Your music will take you places around the world you just need to be consistent enough to see it happen,” he wrote. “Most artists quit before the blessings show up. Keep going.”
Skales’ message is not just motivational it comes from experience. The artist recently experienced a career resurgence after his 2014 hit single Shake Body went viral again. The track gained renewed attention thanks to a dance video by Barcelona’s teenage football star, Lamine Yamal, sparking fresh interest in the song a decade after its release.
Reflecting on his journey, Skales noted that it feels like his life has been “restarted,” and he urged fellow artists not to lose faith in their own paths.
