At the Emirates, Arsenal enjoyed a comfortable night against Olympiacos. Gabriel Martinelli opened the scoring and Bukayo Saka added a second after the break to send the Gunners top of their group.
Elsewhere, Erling Haaland scored twice but Manchester City were pegged back to a 2-2 draw by Monaco. Bayer Leverkusen drew 1-1 with PSV, while Newcastle cruised to a 4-0 win over Union St Gilloise in the early kick-off.
