John Utaka Stresses Protocol After Musa Leaves Camp for Marriage

Former Super Eagles forward John Utaka has weighed in on the recent news that team captain Ahmed Musa left the national team camp to get married. Utaka emphasized the importance of following proper procedures in managing national team affairs.

Musa, currently playing for Kano Pillars, exited the camp shortly after Nigeria’s 2-1 victory over Ghana in the Unity Cup held in London. The veteran forward, who appeared as a second-half substitute in the match, later tied the knot with his fourth wife, Asmau Moriki, in Kano, his home state.

Speaking to Brila FM, Utaka said, “We don’t know what discussions were held before Musa went to camp. It’s a national duty, things have to be done correctly.”

Utaka, who earned 44 caps for the Super Eagles during his playing career, reiterated that matters involving the national team should always be handled with professionalism and adherence to proper protocols.
