Katsina State Governor, Dikko Umar Radda, has confirmed he sustained only minor injuries after being involved in a car accident along the Daura–Katsina Road while on official duty over the weekend.
The incident, which occurred on Sunday, sparked concern among citizens and political stakeholders across the state. However, the governor has assured the public that he is in good health and high spirits.
In an official statement released on Monday by his Chief Press Secretary, Ibrahim Mohammed, the governor’s media team confirmed that while the incident was unfortunate, there were no serious injuries and the governor remains stable.
“Governor Radda is in a stable condition and has only sustained minor injuries. He is currently under routine medical observation as a precautionary measure but remains active and in high spirits,” the statement said.
Addressing the public directly in a short live video from his residence shortly after preliminary medical checks, Governor Radda thanked Allah for protection and extended gratitude to the people of Katsina State and well-wishers across the country.
“Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim. Dear brothers and sisters of Katsina State and beyond, we are deeply grateful for all your prayers and concern,” the governor said.
“By the will of Allah, we were tested with a car accident—but Alhamdulillah, we came out safe and unharmed.”
“Once again, thank you for your heartfelt prayers. Assalamu Alaikum Warahmatullah.”
The governor emphasized that his health is not in danger, adding: “I’m pleased to confirm that I remain in good health and high spirits.”
Since the incident, expressions of relief and solidarity have poured in from residents, traditional rulers, and political allies, praising the governor’s resilience and calm composure during the ordeal.
Governor Radda has resumed official duties but remains under observation to ensure his continued well-being.
