Enyimba goalkeeper Dede Dare is optimistic that the nine-time Nigerian champions can rise further up the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) table following their latest victory.
Tobi Iyanda’s decisive strike secured a 1-0 win over Kun Khalifat FC in Aba on Sunday, lifting the People’s Elephant to 17th place with 11 points.
Reacting to the result, Dare stressed the importance of the maximum points, noting that the team was under pressure to improve its league position.
“We are glad with the three points as the victory will move us a little up in the league table,” Dare told the club’s media.
“The mindset was to secure victory in the game as we all needed the three points desperately,” he said.
