Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, has moved to strengthen his cabinet, nominating his Chief Press Secretary, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, and Hon. Balarabe Sa’idu Gani for appointment as commissioners.
The Governor has formally submitted the names of the two nominees to the Kano State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation, setting the stage for their possible inclusion in the state executive council.
The Assembly is expected to conduct the screening exercise on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, at 10:00 a.m.
The development was disclosed in a statement issued on Monday by the Assembly’s spokesperson, Kamaluddeen Sani Shawai, who confirmed that the legislature had received an official communication from Governor Yusuf requesting the confirmation of the nominees.
According to the statement, the screening and confirmation process will be conducted in line with the relevant provisions of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The nominations now await legislative scrutiny, after which the Assembly will determine whether the two candidates meet the requirements for appointment into the Kano State Executive Council.
