Davido Projects Global Sell-Out for Joint Wizkid Tour, Sets $500,000 Fee Per Show

Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has expressed confidence that a joint tour with fellow Nigerian singer Wizkid would attract sold-out crowds across the world.
The singer disclosed this during an appearance on the IONWANNATALK show, where he discussed the possibility of collaborating with Wizkid on music and embarking on a joint tour.
Davido said he would charge $500,000 for each performance if the two artistes agreed to tour together, predicting that every venue would sell out.
“If we tour together, I’ll ask for $500,000 per show because I know every venue will sell out,” he said.
However, the Unavailable crooner was less certain about the commercial success of a joint single with Wizkid.
He referenced the collaboration between Nigerian music veterans D’banj and 2Baba, noting that their joint record did not achieve the level of success he would have expected.
“If Wizkid and I do a song together, I don’t know if it will pop because when D’banj and 2Baba did a record together, it didn’t really pop,” he stated.
Davido also revealed that he and Wizkid had not recorded a song together in approximately 10 years, clarifying that their prolonged absence of a musical collaboration was not necessarily due to an inability to work together.
He attributed the situation partly to not being in the same mental space as Wizkid at certain points.
The singer further reflected on their long-standing rivalry, acknowledging differing views about whether their competitive relationship had contributed to their individual success or whether joining forces could create greater opportunities for both artistes.
Speaking about moving beyond past disagreements, Davido suggested that maturity involves recognising when one’s feelings towards a situation or another person have changed.
“I felt that way at some point but not anymore, and it takes a great man to do that,” he said.
While Davido did not confirm any plans for a joint tour or music release, his comments have renewed conversations about the possibility of two of Afrobeats’ biggest stars sharing a stage.
