Cyriel Dessers, a striker for Rangers, has acknowledged that Club Brugge are the favorites heading into the first leg of their UEFA Champions League playoff encounter scheduled for tonight.
The opening leg will be played at Ibrox Stadium, with the Scottish side set to host the Belgian outfit.
Rangers secured their place in this stage of the competition after overcoming Czech club Viktoria Plzen with a 4-2 aggregate victory in the previous round under the guidance of manager Russell Martin.
Club Brugge delivered an impressive campaign in last season’s UEFA Champions League, notably achieving a memorable win against English champions Manchester City.
Dessers conceded that facing a top Belgian side presents a significant challenge.
“I think it’s clear that Club Brugge are the favourites. They’re a team that did well in the Champions League last season,” Dessers told HLN.
