Fulham manager Alvaro Arbeloa has been fined £25,000 ($33,000) by the Football Association (FA) for alleging that match officials would “not let Manchester United lose”.
The Spaniard made the comments after Fulham drew 1-1 with United at Craven Cottage in the Premier League in September, with Matheus Cunha scoring a late equaliser for the visitors in the 89th minute.
Arbeloa admitted the charge and was also warned by the FA, which said he “acted in an improper manner by making comments in a post-match interview that imply bias and/or question the integrity of a match official”.
Fulham are currently bottom of the Premier League, having collected just two points from their opening six matches.
