Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal and Real Madrid’s Arda Guler have recorded the highest number of key passes among players in Europe’s top five leagues during the 2026-27 season.
Yamal leads with 30 key passes, followed by Guler with 28, highlighting the creative contributions of the two youngsters in La Liga.
Planet Football released the ranking on Wednesday, assessing key passes — the final passes before a teammate attempts a shot — across the Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga and Ligue 1.
The 19-year-old Yamal has continued to influence Barcelona’s attack through his dribbling, chance creation and presence in the final third.
Guler has also impressed with his precise passes and threatening set-piece deliveries. However, he has managed just two assists from his 28 key passes, suggesting several opportunities created have gone unconverted.
Roma’s Paulo Dybala ranks fifth with 23 key passes, establishing himself among Serie A’s leading creators. The Argentine also boasts an expected assists figure of 3.68.
Frosinone’s Italian midfielder Giacomo Calo is fourth with 24 key passes in six appearances, while Spain’s Inigo Vicente occupies third place with 25 in eight outings.
Other players have also made notable contributions early in the campaign. Toulouse midfielder Cristian Casseres, Angers winger Amine Sbai and Lens forward Florian Thauvin have each recorded 19 key passes.
RB Leipzig left-back David Raum has matched that tally in five appearances, demonstrating his attacking influence from defence.
Villarreal winger Alberto Moleiro completes the top 10 with 18 key passes. The 23-year-old has also scored twice and provided three assists in eight La Liga appearances, according to the report.
The statistics underline the role of creative players in the opening stages of the 2026-27 season, with both established names and emerging talents making significant contributions across Europe.
With Yamal and Guler setting the pace, attention will remain on the leading chance creators as the season unfolds.
