Uche Ogbodo Reveals Why She Chose Facial Rejuvenation

Nollywood actress Uche Ogbodo has opened up about undergoing a non-surgical facial rejuvenation procedure, saying dissatisfaction with aspects of her appearance influenced her decision.
The 40-year-old actress documented the process in a post-procedure video shared on her Instagram page on Friday, giving followers a look at her face one day after the treatment.
In the video, Ogbodo noted that her face was significantly swollen following the procedure and admitted that she was initially uncomfortable with the immediate result.
She said her doctor had assured her that the swelling would subside and that her appearance would improve as she recovered.
Ogbodo said her decision was not driven by a desire to achieve physical perfection. Rather, she wanted to look more refreshed, youthful and confident while retaining her identity.
“This is day one of giving my face the love, care and attention it deserves,” she said, explaining that she was not interested in pressure to conform to a particular standard of ageing.
Why Ogbodo chose the procedure
Ogbodo said she believes people who are unhappy with aspects of their appearance can choose to change them when they have the means to do so.
She disclosed that she underwent the treatment at Marvels Aesthetics Hub, where, according to her, she received threads, fillers and PDO treatment.
She said the procedures were intended to lift her face, restore volume, reduce the appearance of lines and create a more rested appearance without undergoing surgery.
The actress also urged anyone considering cosmetic or aesthetic procedures to put safety ahead of appearance.
She advised prospective clients to use recognised facilities and qualified medical professionals rather than seeking procedures from unverified practitioners.
Ogbodo said her interest in helping women navigate aesthetic and plastic surgery options also led her to establish Baddie In Transit Consult, which she described as a service aimed at helping women identify appropriate doctors, clinics and aesthetic professionals.
Previous cosmetic procedure
Ogbodo has previously spoken publicly about cosmetic procedures.
She was among Nigerian actresses previously reported to have undergone a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL), a surgical procedure aimed at altering the shape and size of the buttocks.
Her latest disclosure, however, concerns facial rejuvenation, which can involve surgical or non-surgical treatments targeting concerns such as wrinkles, loose skin and loss of facial volume.
Disclosure follows marital separation
Ogbodo’s latest cosmetic procedure comes about a month after she announced her separation from her husband, Bobby Maris, after eight years of marriage.
At the time, the actress expressed frustration over the relationship and questioned societal expectations surrounding women who decide to leave marriages.
She said she had devoted eight years to the marriage and wanted to pursue happiness on her own terms.
Ogbodo began her acting career in 2006 with her debut in Another Bondage.
She has since appeared in several Nollywood productions, including Four Sisters, Players, Your Holiness, Your Last Action, Honour My Will, The Laptop and Royal Palace.
