Emeka Rollas Reconsiders Regina Daniels Marital Crisis Remarks, Apologises to Family and AGN Colleagues

Former President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Emeka Rollas, has apologised to actress Regina Daniels, her mother Rita Daniels, Senator Ned Nwoko and several Nollywood colleagues over comments he made during the actress’s marital crisis in 2025.
Rollas shared the apology in a statement on Instagram on Thursday, saying his intentions at the time may have been genuine but acknowledging that his approach and timing were inappropriate.
The former guild president had weighed in on reports surrounding Regina Daniels and Nwoko’s marriage in November 2025. At the time, he said the actress needed help and criticised some veteran actors whom he claimed had witnessed incidents involving her.
He also made comments concerning Rita Daniels in relation to the AGN leadership contest and addressed Nwoko’s position as Chairman of the guild’s Board of Patrons.
Reflecting on the episode, Rollas said he now regrets choosing to speak publicly while the family was dealing with a sensitive matter.
He said an unexpected encounter with Rita Daniels, during which some people attempted to reconcile them, prompted him to reconsider his conduct and the circumstances surrounding his earlier statements.
Rollas subsequently extended his apology to Rita Daniels and her family, Regina Daniels, Nwoko and his family, as well as the AGN Board of Trustees.
He also apologised to colleagues including Okey Bakassi, Charles Inojie, Chinyere Wilfred, Jide Kosoko, Sanni Danji, Agility and Nazareth Jesse.
“I am sorry,” Rollas said.
The former AGN president stressed that he was not making the apology with the expectation that those involved would necessarily accept it.
He said the decision to forgive him remained with the people affected, adding that his reflection had made him dissatisfied with how he handled the situation.
Rollas, however, clarified that his apology did not mean he had abandoned every concern he expressed at the time.
He said he continued to hold his position on some of the issues he had raised but accepted responsibility for the manner and timing in which he addressed them.
Rollas said he had chosen to pursue peace and move forward, describing the experience as a lesson in leadership.
According to him, leadership requires more than the willingness to speak out. It also demands the humility to recognise when an issue could have been handled differently, addressed at another time or approached through a better channel.
