‘There’s More to This’: Papaya Ex Speaks Out as Poco Lee Faces UK Court Case

Media personality and content creator Papaya Ex has spoken in support of Nigerian dancer and entertainer Poco Lee as he faces legal proceedings in the United Kingdom.

Papaya Ex, who described Poco Lee as a friend, said she believes the public may not yet have the full picture of the case.

In a statement shared amid growing reactions to the development, she described watching her friend go through the situation as heartbreaking and appealed to people not to exploit the case for attention online.

“I truly believe there is more to this situation than what people may have heard. It’s heartbreaking to watch my friend go through this and I hope people stop using it for clout,” she said.

Papaya Ex also expressed confidence in Poco Lee’s character, saying she believes he has a good heart.

“Poco is a man with a good heart and I know God will never leave his own,” she added.

Her comments come as the legal case involving Poco Lee, whose real name is Iweh Pascal Odinaka, continues to attract attention in Nigeria and the UK.

Snaresbrook Crown Court in London has confirmed that Poco Lee is scheduled to appear before the court on September 15, 2026, for plea and trial preparation. The court has also confirmed charges of attempted rape, two counts of rape and two counts of assault by penetration. A reporting restriction is in place to protect the anonymity of the complainant.

Poco Lee’s management has meanwhile urged the public to allow the judicial process to run its course. The team has also rejected reports suggesting that drink-spiking forms part of the charges before the court, describing such claims as unverified.

The entertainer has not been convicted of any offence, and the allegations against him remain subject to determination by the court.

Papaya Ex’s intervention adds to a growing wave of support from some of Poco Lee’s friends and colleagues, even as the legal proceedings move towards the September hearing.
