Owolabi Ajasa Refutes Death Rumours, Says ‘I’m Alive and Well’

Veteran Nollywood actor Owolabi Ajasa has dismissed widespread reports claiming he has died, assuring fans that he is alive and in good health.

The actor addressed the rumour in a video shared on his Instagram page on Friday after a fake obituary poster circulated across social media, prompting concern among supporters.

Known for portraying police officers in Yoruba films and for his popular catchphrase, “Ta lo pa chief?”, Ajasa used the video to reassure fans both in Nigeria and abroad that the reports were untrue.”Good day everyone, my name still remains Owolabi Ajasa, your Nollywood police officer. I want to tell all my fans both in Nigeria and abroad that I’m still much alive. I’m alive, hale and hearty. There’s nothing wrong with me,” he said.

The actor also criticised those responsible for spreading the false information, condemning the circulation of the fake obituary.”To everyone posting my obituary around, I’m saying back to the sender to you and your family,” he added.

Ajasa is regarded as one of Nollywood’s most recognisable Yoruba actors, earning widespread popularity for his frequent portrayal of police officers in films and his memorable on-screen performances.
