Kwara Governor Awards N5m to Kwara United Squad After Historic Federation Cup Triumph

Kwara State Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq has approved a cash reward of N5 million for each player and member of the technical crew of Kwara United Football Club in recognition of their victory in the 2025 President Federation Cup.

The Harmony Boys secured the title after a dramatic 4–3 penalty shootout win over Abakaliki FC in the final played in June.

This triumph marks the first time in the club’s history that Kwara United have lifted Nigeria’s oldest football competition.

As part of the achievement, the Ilorin-based side will represent the country in next season’s CAF Confederation Cup.

Governor Abdulrazaq’s financial gesture is expected to provide a significant morale boost for the team as they prepare to challenge for more trophies in the upcoming campaign.

Meanwhile, the preliminary draw for the CAF Confederation Cup is scheduled to take place later this month.
