“I Went From 100 to Zero”: Small Doctor Recounts Living in a ‘Bad-Luck’ House
The singer urges Nigerians to investigate and pray before renting homes, recalling a dark period that nearly broke him.

Popular Nigerian singer Adekunle Temitope, better known as Small Doctor, has opened up about a harrowing chapter in his life, revealing how living in a rented home nearly destroyed him mentally and professionally.
In a candid post shared on his X (formerly Twitter) page, the Penalty crooner described the residence as a “bad-luck house,” explaining that despite its clean and appealing appearance, his fortunes sharply declined while living there.
“I went from 100 to zero in that house,” he wrote, adding that he almost lost his mind during that period.
“House was so neat, silent… just everything anyone will want. I won ment.”
The singer advised the public to carry out thorough investigations before settling on a place to live. He emphasized the importance of speaking with neighbors and praying about the decision.
“If you wan rent house, ask well ooo. Go do findings for that area and pray. Cràzy houses dey ooo,” he warned.
Small Doctor hinted that there’s more to the story, saying,
“A day is coming sha. I go tell the world wetin I see and wetin una do me.”
Though he didn’t elaborate on who “una” referred to, the tone of his message suggested unresolved pain tied to the experience.
The 29-year-old artist began his music journey in 2012 and gained mainstream attention in 2015 with the release of his debut album Street Ambassador. Known for fusing Fuji with Afro-pop, Small Doctor earned critical acclaim with hits like Mosquito Killer, Gbagaun, and Penalty, which won “Best Street Hop” at The Headies in 2018.
His story resonates with many Nigerians who believe in spiritual implications tied to certain houses. Small Doctor’s post serves as a reminder of how environment and unseen influences can affect one’s destiny, even when everything looks perfect on the surface.
