An unexpected incident disrupted a public lecture in Ghana on Thursday when Madina Member of Parliament, Francis-Xavier Sosu, collapsed while addressing the audience.
Sosu was speaking at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration on leadership, his personal experiences and public service when he suddenly appeared to lose consciousness.
Shortly before the incident, he told the audience, “I respectfully submit that if you want to be a good leader, let service be your hallmark”.
He then paused before collapsing on stage, prompting people nearby to rush to his assistance.
The lawmaker briefly regained consciousness and appeared set to continue his address, but soon began to slump again.
He was eventually helped off the stage and taken away for medical attention.
His condition and the circumstances surrounding the incident were not immediately known.
