Davido Can’t Be Banned From Edo, Israel DMW Fires Back at Okpebholo’s Aide

Davido’s logistics manager, Israel DMW, has pushed back against a reported directive barring the singer from performing in Edo State.

Israel reacted on Friday after Apostle Kassy Chukwu, Senior Special Assistant to Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo on Digital Media, announced the reported ban.

Chukwu said the decision followed a social media clash between Davido and Governor Okpebholo during the build-up to the Osun State governorship election.

Israel, who is from Edo State, dismissed the reported restriction, arguing that Davido could not be prevented from visiting or performing in the state.

He also pointed to Davido’s maternal connection to Edo while challenging the authority of the governor’s aide to speak on behalf of the people of the state.

In a post on Instagram, Israel described Chukwu as an outsider and accused him of causing trouble in Benin City. He also questioned the pastor’s political affiliation and personal conduct.

“Kindly disregard what he’s saying. He’s not speaking for we Edolites,” Israel wrote.

He added that “no man on this planet earth” could prevent Davido from coming to Edo, which he described as the singer’s maternal home.

Israel’s comments followed growing controversy over Davido’s political interactions during the Osun governorship election, particularly his online exchange with Okpebholo.

The reported ban has yet to end the dispute, with Israel’s reaction adding another layer to the disagreement between the singer’s camp and the Edo State Government.
