B-Red Defends Adeleke Family’s Politics, Says ‘Wealth Was Never the Motivation’

Nigerian singer B-Red has said members of the Adeleke family did not venture into politics because of the financial benefits attached to public office.
B-Red, whose father is Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, made the claim during an interview on the Echo Room podcast.
The singer said his family had accumulated wealth over generations and therefore had no need to depend on political office for financial gains.
According to him, the family’s decision to participate in politics was driven by a desire to serve and assist people.
B-Red also spoke about the possibility of his father eventually becoming Nigeria’s President, expressing confidence that such a development would lead to significant improvements in the country.
“If my dad, Governor Ademola Adeleke, becomes the President of Nigeria, things will improve drastically,” he said.
However, the singer said he would not necessarily want his father to occupy the nation’s highest political office because of the pressure that comes with the position.
“But I don’t want my dad to be President because the pressure will be too much,” he added.
The Adeleke family has maintained a prominent presence in Osun politics. The late Isiaka Adeleke served as both governor of the state and a senator, while Ademola Adeleke is the incumbent governor.
The family also has a strong presence in Nigeria’s entertainment industry, with Afrobeats star Davido among its prominent members.
B-Red’s comments come amid continued public interest in the Adeleke family’s political influence and the possibility of Ademola Adeleke playing a larger role in national politics in the future.
