Portable Questions VeryDarkMan Over Burna Boy’s Reported ₦200m School Donation

Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has challenged social media activist VeryDarkMan to explain how funds reportedly donated by Grammy-winning singer Burna Boy for a school project were spent.

Portable raised the questions in a video shared online, criticising the activist over portraits painted on a wall and asking why Nigerian footballer Adebayo was featured instead of Burna Boy, whom he described as the source of the donation.

The singer also questioned why VeryDarkMan included a portrait of himself in the artwork, arguing that the project was reportedly funded by someone else.

“Burna Boy give you money, wetin you use am do? NGO money, where the money dey?” Portable asked.

He further alleged that Burna Boy had provided more than ₦200 million for the construction of a school, questioning whether the money had been used for its intended purpose.

“You are fighting for your pocket. Burna Boy give you N200 million plus, make you build school, you go build Ashewo house,” he said.

Portable’s remarks centre on the reported donation and the use of funds intended for an educational project. However, the allegations made in his video do not, on their own, establish that the money was misappropriated.

The exchange adds to public scrutiny surrounding VeryDarkMan’s activities as a social media activist and his involvement in charitable initiatives.

As of the account provided, no response from VeryDarkMan to Portable’s latest allegations was included, and no evidence was presented to independently establish how the reported donation was spent.
