The death toll from separate attacks on Bin Mper and Murish communities in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State has risen to 28.
The Mwaghavul Development Association, MDA, condemned the attacks, describing them as “unprovoked acts of aggression” by armed bandits.
The association said homes, farmlands and property worth millions of naira were also destroyed, while calling for sustained military operations to protect vulnerable communities.
“MDA mourns this devastating loss and stands in complete solidarity with the affected families,” it said.
The MDA commended security agencies for their swift response, saying their intervention helped prevent further escalation. It also praised Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang for visiting Bin Mper, deploying additional security personnel and pledging relief assistance.
The association also commended Mwaghavul youths for their resilience and vigilance, while urging them to operate within the law.
It called on the Federal, Plateau State and local governments to prioritise the protection of lives and property, stressing that communities must be secured to allow residents return to their farms and rebuild their livelihoods.
