Athletic Bilbao winger Nico Williams has reached an agreement on personal terms with Barcelona, signing off on a six-year contract as he looks to make a move to the Catalan giants this summer.
Williams, who was previously linked with Barcelona last year, is now eager to complete the switch to their LaLiga rivals.
According to renowned transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Spanish international has settled on a salary package with Barça, taking a significant step toward finalizing the move.
Romano reported via X on Thursday:
“Nico Williams and Barça have agreed personal terms on a 6-year deal! Agreement sealed on player’s contract until June 2031 with the salary in the region of €7/8m net per season.”
The final hurdle remains an agreement between Barcelona and Athletic Bilbao over the transfer fee, which is currently being negotiated.
Barcelona are said to be working on the financial details in order to secure the talented winger’s signature ahead of the new season.
