The Federal Government has stated that it is yet to receive any official communication from the authorities of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) regarding the newly introduced conditions for issuing transit visas to Nigerian nationals.
This clarification comes in the wake of recent announcements by both the United States and UAE, which introduced stricter visa guidelines, further complicating travel for Nigerians to these countries.
Despite the development, President Bola Tinubu has reassured Nigerians that his administration remains committed to securing the best possible outcomes for citizens abroad. He emphasized that efforts are ongoing to ensure Nigerians can travel, work, and reside with dignity and respect across the globe.
In a statement issued in Abuja, the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, noted that all genuine concerns raised by Nigerians are being addressed through the appropriate diplomatic channels in a spirit of mutual respect and cooperation.
President Tinubu reaffirmed that the government’s response is aligned with the administration’s 4-D foreign policy agenda, particularly its commitment to protecting the rights and welfare of Nigerians in the diaspora.
