
It is no news that the Super Falcons of Nigeria made the nation proud by clinching their record-extending 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title. The team staged an incredible comeback, beating Morocco 3-2 in the thrilling final at the Olympic Stadium in Rabat.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in a video message courtesy of State House, Aso Villa, Abuja, congratulated the Super Falcons on their spectacular win.
“The Super Falcons’ spectacular performance tonight in Rabat, coming from behind to beat a spirited Moroccan side playing in front of a passionate home crowd, exemplifies the determination that defines the Nigerian spirit,” President Tinubu said.
Goals from Esther Okoronkwo, Folashade Ijamilusi, and super-sub-Jennifer Echegini sealed the dramatic victory.
