Nollywood actor Uche Odoputa has announced that his family will hold an empty-casket funeral for his late father, Mr Kenneth Chukwumezie Odoputa, because they have no remains to bury.
The actor disclosed this in an emotional social media post, saying the family plans to honour his father in a few weeks.
Although they do not have his father’s remains, Odoputa said they are determined to celebrate his life, dignity and the love they shared.
“We have no body to lay to rest, but we have his life to remember, his dignity to honour and our love to express,” he wrote.
The actor also described his father as “Honestman” and reaffirmed the family’s commitment to keeping his memory alive.
Encouraging people dealing with grief to seek support, Odoputa urged them to speak with someone they trust.
“Dad, we love you. We remember you. We will always honour you,” he added.
