Toluwanisings’ Wife, Father Sign Peace Undertaking Over Burial Dispute

The wife, father and associates of late gospel singer Toluwanisings have signed a peace undertaking with the Oyo State Police Command following a dispute over his burial arrangements.
The agreement came two days after reports that the singer’s widow, Damilola Olayemi, had agreed with her father-in-law to have him buried at their residence in Ibadan.
In a statement issued on Tuesday by the command’s Public Relations Officer, Ayanlade Olayinka, the police said Commissioner of Police Abimbola Ayodeji Olugbenga invited the parties after receiving reports of disagreements between the deceased’s family and associates.
The dispute had reportedly generated tension and exchanges on social media.
According to the statement, the parties agreed to refrain from actions capable of escalating tensions surrounding the circumstances of the singer’s death.
They also undertook to stop discussing the dispute publicly and granting interviews about it through any communication channel.
Those who signed the undertaking include the singer’s widow, Damilola Olayemi; his father, Muniru Olayemi; his uncle, Lawal Ademola Rafiu; his personal assistant, Babadunni Gbolabo; and his associate, Oyindamola Esther.
Toluwanisings reportedly slumped and died at his residence on October 14, 2026.
The circumstances surrounding his sudden death have continued to attract public attention.
