Sporting Lagos technical adviser Jeffery Buter says his side has moved on from their victory over Inter Lagos as they prepare for Sunday’s clash with Abia Warriors.
The NPFL newcomers will host Abia Warriors at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Onikan in a matchday four fixture.
Buter believes the previous victory has provided useful momentum, while insisting that his players remain focused on the next challenge.
“We have had a week of rest and training, the boys look ready as we have put the success of our last game behind us,” Buter said in a pre-match interview.
“We look forward to Sunday as we have had a good week of preparation.
“The win over Inter Lagos was important as we don’t want to go two game without a win, it will also help us build the momentum ahead of Abia Warriors clash and beyond.”
The coach also called on supporters to fill the stadium and provide the team with additional motivation in their first home match of the season.
“The players enjoy when the fans are at the stadium it’s gives them more confident and extra motivation to get the result for them as well,” Buter added.
“It will be nice our first home game back in the NPFL, I’m expecting a packed stadium and hopefully we can give the another good performance on Sunday.“
