Sokoto United has confirmed the retention of 26 players ahead of the 2025–2026 season of the Nigeria National League (NNL).
The club has scheduled the return to training for all retained players on Monday, August 25, 2025.
This update was announced in an official statement issued by the club’s General Manager, Umar Maraya, on Monday.
According to Maraya, disciplinary measures will be enforced on any player who fails to report as instructed.
The statement emphasized the club’s decision-making process: “Following a thorough assessment of the squad, we have chosen to keep players we are confident can contribute significantly to the team’s performance.”
It further stressed compliance: “Every retained player is required to return by Monday, August 25, 2025, as training will commence immediately. Failure to report as scheduled will result in appropriate sanctions.”
