Socialite Cubana Chief Priest Talks Political Loyalty Shift, Tinubu Trust Concerns

Amid renewed political commentary and shifting alliances in Nigeria’s entertainment-political space, socialite and entrepreneur, Pascal Okechukwu, populary called Cubana Chief Priest has opened up on why he believes he is not fully trusted by President Bola Tinubu.

In a recent interview with Peller on Tuesday evening, Nigerian entrepreneur and socialite, Ikechukwu spoke about his political journey and the factors behind his support for President Bola Tinubu over Peter Obi.

He said his decision was based on his belief that Obi could not win the 2023 presidential election, adding that this influenced his political alignment going forward.

He also claimed that President Bola Tinubu does not fully trust him because of his ethnic background and his past support for Obi.

Cubana Chief Priest, who previously backed Obi during the 2023 election, said this was the main factor that influenced his political realignment. He explained that his decision to support Tinubu was driven by what he described as political reality and the need to avoid backing a losing side again.

“I worked for Peter Obi in 2023 but I had to abandon him because I know he cannot beat Tinubu”, he said.

He also referenced his earlier attempt to contest for the APC House of Representatives ticket for Orsu/Orlu/Oru East Federal Constituency in Imo State, which he did not secure, later stating that his participation was not fully as reported.
