TikToker Peller surprised a mother and her daughter with a ₦1 million payment after buying their entire groundnut stock during a TikTok livestream.
The encounter happened on Monday after the woman and her daughter joined Peller’s live session to showcase their groundnut business.
During the interaction, Peller asked the woman how much she sold the groundnuts for, to which she responded that the goods cost ₦3,000.
He then asked how much she would charge for everything she had.
The woman quoted ₦1 million for the entire stock.
Peller agreed to the price and transferred the ₦1 million to her during the livestream.
He subsequently asked the mother and daughter to confirm that they had received the payment while the session was still ongoing.
However, the celebratory moment took an unexpected turn when Peller expressed displeasure with the daughter’s reaction to the money.
The TikToker said he expected a more enthusiastic response after handing over the ₦1 million.
He suggested that the money should be returned, arguing that he would have shown greater appreciation if he were in her position.
“If na me dem give one million naira, I go happy. I go show say I appreciate am. I go thank the person specially,” he said.
The young woman subsequently apologised and pleaded with Peller, while her mother also appealed to him to remain calm.
Peller eventually decided not to reverse the transaction, leaving the mother and daughter with the ₦1 million payment for their groundnut stock.
The livestream has since drawn attention to the unusual transaction, which saw a product initially presented as a ₦3,000 item become the subject of a ₦1 million purchase.
