PDP Convenes South-West Zonal Caucus Meeting for July 11 in Ibadan

Party leadership invites key stakeholders from across the South-West for crucial strategy session

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has scheduled its South-West zonal caucus meeting for Friday, July 11, 2025. The high-level gathering will take place at the PDP South-West Zonal Secretariat in Ibadan, Oyo State.

This was announced in a statement issued on Tuesday by the PDP National Vice Chairman for the South-West, Kamorudeen Ajisafe.

According to the statement, the meeting will be chaired by Ajisafe himself and will include members of the Zonal Working Committee, alongside several key figures from across the region who remain active members of the party.

Those invited include current and former Presidents and Vice Presidents of Nigeria from the South-West, serving and former state governors and their deputies, as well as past and present members of the National Assembly produced by the party from the region.

Also expected to attend are current and former National Executive Committee members from the South-West, party chairmen, deputy chairmen, and secretaries at the state level, as well as former ministers, ambassadors, and senior aides to the presidency originating from the zone.

The statement further noted the inclusion of former Speakers and Deputy Speakers of Houses of Assembly in the South-West, as well as former Secretaries to the Government of the Federation and former heads of federal parastatals — provided they are still affiliated with the party.

In a notable gesture of inclusiveness, the party has also extended invitations to three physically challenged persons who are formally recognized as caucus members.

The upcoming meeting is seen as part of ongoing efforts to reposition the PDP in the region and may shape strategic discussions ahead of the 2027 general elections.
