The incident occurred on Saturday at Tenebo Village in Kaiama Local Government Area, triggering renewed concerns over worsening insecurity in parts of the state.

Confirming the attack, the Commissioner of Police in Kwara State, Ojo Adekimi, expressed deep sorrow over the loss of the officers, describing the incident as tragic and unacceptable.

“Their commitment to safeguarding lives and property will never be forgotten”, Adekimi said, while extending condolences to the families, colleagues and friends of the deceased.

He also assured that injured officers were receiving treatment and wished them a speedy recovery.

Adekimi vowed that the attackers would be brought to justice, stating that the command had activated operational and intelligence efforts to track them down.

“There will be no hiding place for the perpetrators”, he declared.
