Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho has admitted he would prefer neither Barcelona nor Atletico Madrid to win their LaLiga encounter this weekend.
Barcelona head into the fixture at the top of the table with 30 points, two ahead of Atletico, while Real Madrid occupy third place with 27 points.
Mourinho believes the clash presents an opportunity for his side to gain ground, as at least one of their title rivals is guaranteed to drop points.
He said: “Atletico vs Barcelona? I’d like both of them to lose.
“Unfortunately, that’s not possible. Points will inevitably be dropped, and that’s the best possible news.”
Real Madrid will also be in action on Saturday night when they travel to face Valencia.
