Mourinho Set for Real Madrid Return

Jose Mourinho has arrived in Spain as he closes in on a return to Real Madrid.

The veteran manager reportedly reached a verbal agreement with club president, Florentino Perez, before last weekend’s presidential election. Perez’s victory over Enrique Riquelme has now paved the way for Mourinho’s comeback to the Santiago Bernabéu, 13 years after his first spell in charge.

The 63-year-old is expected to sign a three-year contract before being formally introduced as the club’s new head coach.

Football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, wrote on X: “José Mourinho, in Madrid today ahead of his presentation as new Real Madrid head coach on a three-year deal.”

Madrid have already strengthened their defence ahead of Mourinho’s arrival, securing the signings of Ibrahima Konate from Liverpool and Denzel Dumfries from Inter Milan.
