Elimination of Key ISIS Leader is testament to effective partnership between Nigeria and U.S. – Pres. Tinubu

In a remarkable display of international cooperation, Nigeria and the United States have achieved a significant victory in the ongoing fight against terrorism.
The Nigerian Armed Forces, in close collaboration with U.S. military forces, successfully conducted a daring operation that led to the elimination of Abu-Bilal Al-Manuki, a senior leader of the Islamic State, along with several of his key lieutenants.
The operation took place overnight in the Lake Chad Basin, where early assessments confirmed the successful strike on Al-Manuki’s compound.
This decisive action represents a heavy blow to the ranks of ISIS and underscores the effectiveness of the partnership between Nigeria and the United States in addressing shared security challenges.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu expressed his appreciation for the collaboration, stating,
“Nigeria appreciates this partnership with the United States in advancing our shared security objectives. I extend my sincere gratitude to President Trump for his leadership and unwavering support in this effort.”
The President commended the professionalism and courage displayed by personnel from both nations during the operation, highlighting the importance of continued joint efforts to target and dismantle terrorist enclaves throughout Nigeria.
“This operation is a testament to our commitment to fighting terrorism and ensuring the safety and security of our citizens,” President Tinubu added. “I look forward to more decisive strikes against all terrorist threats across the nation.”
As the Nigerian government continues to strengthen its military capabilities and international partnerships, this operation serves as a significant reminder of the collaborative efforts necessary to combat the persistent threat of terrorism in the region.
